Approach to Astrology

Shannon Aganza is not simply an astrologer — she is a bridge. A connection between the spiritual and the terrestrial. A translator. She is a channel, an intuitive, a clairvoyant. She is an educator and a healer; a light-bringer. She is a friend, mentor, mother, wife, and San Diego native. She is a current student of Demetra George in the ancient study of Hellenistic Astrology.  

With nearly 30 years in her practice (we’re in Saturn-return territory), Shannon’s natural spiritual gifts are bolstered by her cosmic acumen, allowing her to provides an accumulative set of services to her community with a unique blend of traditional astrology and modern techniques. As she puts it, “Every person holds light,” and her mission is to help you find the light within yourself.

As an oracular astrologer, Shannon uses spiritual transmission to connect each client with their Higher Self (Inner Self, Inner Authority), providing context, insight, and clarity — all with the goal of connecting a person with that unique Inner Light, individual to themselves. Integrating her knowledge of numerology and tarot, she is able to take a comprehensive approach to spiritual hygiene and wellness. Her training in the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine’s masters program (now Pacific College of Health and Science) has helped Shannon to “synthesize” a chart, taking many seemingly abstract pieces and weaving them together to create the whole picture of an individual.  

Astrological Lineage

Shannon fell in love with astrology as a child while shadowing her mother’s coursework in the field; like many whose beginnings start with self study, she wasn’t able to “ground” her studies until connecting with a teacher. Here, her decades long mentorship began with Pam Ciampi,  from whom she learned the importance of a strong foundational technique.

Years into her study of a modern approach to astrology, she was exposed to traditional astrologer John Frawley’s work. She and Pam studied horary astrology with Frawley, adding depth to her practice not found using modern techniques alone. Here, birthed the combination of traditional/renaissance astrology as the foundation of Shannon’s practice while using modern techniques to dive into the inner psychological “Soul” workings of a person. Today Shannon is continuing her study of ancient astrology, specifically Hellenistic astrology under Demetra George.

Over the past three decades, she has cultivated a rich international practice, and today she continues to share her passion with her clients — which include the likes of engineers in the tech sector, doctors and researchers within progressive medical communities, professional and Olympic athletes, as well A-listers within the entertainment industry, and other vital community members just like you.

As an educator, Shannon imparts her wisdom and technical knowledge through the approachable coursework in her programs. These courses have been developed to serve both the curious astrology student hoping to hone their skills for personal use, as well as the career-oriented student astrologer pursuing a comprehensive, in-depth education. Her courses foster a strong, traditional foundation for students to build upon, regardless of track or goals, providing a springboard to pursue any branch of astrology.
